Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a root vegetable that is grown at altitudes of over 10,000 feet above sea level in the Peruvian Andes. Maca has earned itself the nickname of ‘Peruvian Ginseng’. Rio Amazon Maca is organic and gelatinized (no gelatin is used in this process).
AKA ‘Peruvian Ginseng’ for its similarity to Asiatic ginseng in supporting physical and mental performance, Maca has been used for centuries in the Andes. Rio Amazon Maca is gelatinized, a concentrated form whereby starch has been broken down, making it more water soluble and easier to assimilate.
